How Name.com is helping the community during the season of giving

It’s easy to be caught up in the bustle of the holidays with gift shopping, vacation preparations, and festive baking projects. But it is also a time to be thankful for what you have and give back to the community if you can. Here at Name.com, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be supporting a variety of community organizations this year that are in need of help.

Name.com employees nominated charity organizations in need of help, and we’re excited to announce that five incredible groups will be receiving donations:

Organization: SafeHouse Denver

Nominated by: Allison

SafeHouse Denver provides a safe asylum for women and children who are victims of domestic violence. They offer emergency shelter for women and children who are escaping abuse and free counseling services for survivors. The donated funds will go towards basic necessities like clothing, toiletries, office supplies, and more.

Organization: Special Olympics Denver Swim Team

Nominated by: Angela

Even though the Special Olympics is a big organization, the local athletes here in Colorado still need community support and help to thrive. Specifically, the swim team does not have uniforms. The donation will allow the entire team to get matching uniforms for competition.

Organization: Rangeview Track and Field

Nominated by: Jordan

The very talented Rangeview Track and Field team deserves to look like the organized, talented team that they are. Their current uniforms are old and different sets have to be pieced together to outfit the team. The donation will equip around 50 girls on the Girls JV and Varsity teams with new uniforms, empowering them for success.

Organization: Metro Caring

Nominated by: Kristen

Metro Caring works to feed people but also helps prevent hunger. They have programs that teach nutrition, cooking, and financial literacy. The donation will go towards general upkeep costs for the organization.

Organization: Northfield Highschool Solar Rollers Team

Nominated by: Jon

The Solar Rollers club is a group of science and engineering students that build a remote controlled solar-powered car from scratch and race it around a track against other schools. They learn about solar power, electrical engineering, aeronautic design, and other STEM topics through real-world application. The donation will fund the supplies and materials needed to build a solar-powered vehicle.
